U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced inflation adjustments for immigration fees. These fees account for inflation between July 2025 and July 2026. The fees go into effect on October 16, 2026.
The fees were introduced under H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law in July 2025. The statute requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to adjust them annually for inflation, each fiscal year. This round is based on the increase of consumer prices from July 2025 to July 2026, about 3.4 percent.
Fees That Are Going Up
- Annual Asylum Application Fee $102 – $105.
- Immigration Parole Form I-131 Fee: $1,020 – $1,050.
- Form I-765, initial EAD for applicants for asylum, parolees, TPS applicants: $560 to $570.
- Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status $510-$520.
The I-765 increase is only for new applications in these 3 categories. This change does not impact other EAD categories.
What Applicants Need to Know
What matters here is the date of the postmark. If your filing is postmarked on or after October 16, 2026, you must include the new fee. Otherwise, USCIS will reject it, even if you’re off by only a few dollars. Filings with postmarks before October 16 will be valid for the current rates.
