U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has upgraded the CBP One Mobile App allowing individuals to file for their I-94 applications. The goal according to CBP is to facilitate international travel into the United States and to save foreign travelers time and streamline their processing at ports of entry on the northern and southern land borders.

Form I-94 is the record or arrival and departure issued to all individuals entering and exiting the U.S. except for U.S. citizens, returning foreign visitors, foreign visitors with immigrant visas, and most Canadian citizens who are visiting or transiting through the U.S. Form I-94 is a very important document since it is used as evidence of an individual’s legal status to employers, schools, and any government agency.

The new update to the CBP One Mobile App will allow individuals to apply for an I-94 form up to seven days before their arrival to the U.S; review their past travel history; check their I-94 expiration date, and obtain proof of their electronic I-94 from their mobile device. Along with this update, CBP has announced they will no longer print the I-94 stub at the land ports for entry aiming to save additional time for travelers. Air and sea travelers will continue to get issued automated I-94s during the admission process which they can use the mobile app to check.

Clients can download the CBP One App for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
