In March 2023, USCIS conducted the initial random selection for the FY 2024 H-1B cap, which included beneficiaries eligible for the advanced degree exemption. Only petitioners with selected registrations from this initial selection are eligible to file H-1B cap-subject petitions for FY 2024. The filing period for these selected registrations was from April 1, 2023, through June 30, 2023.
Due to the need to meet the FY 2024 H-1B numerical allocations, USCIS will conduct a second selection process to choose additional registrations from the previously submitted electronic registrations. Once this process is completed, USCIS will notify all prospective petitioners with selected registrations from the second round, informing them of their eligibility to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the named beneficiary in the selected registration.
For ILBSG clients, once the second round of selections are complete, we will contact you.
If you have questions about the H-1B cap program or any other immigration-related issue, contact us at ILBSG.
