An online option is being made available for noncitizen change of address submissions, per U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The online option gives noncitizens a third option to update their information, along with existing in-person and phone options.
Providing this online option is meant to make it easier for noncitizens to comply with the terms of their immigration status. Further, it will improve the accuracy of information provided as the form requires U.S. Postal Service standardization. The new option will be available on a rolling basis with full availability in the coming weeks. When available, noncitizens no longer need to visit their field office in person or call. Qualifying individuals can simply submit their information online, at their convenience.
When the noncitizen enters their valid mailing address, if they are in removal proceedings, the interactive form will give the user information on how to also update their address with the immigration court. For that update, noncitizens can use the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Form EOIR-33, Change of Address. That form can be submitted via U.S. mail, in person at the immigration court, or online through EOIR’s Respondent Access. After submitting the address update, other notices will be shown to the user as to their status and next steps. Including updates on asylum applications.
To submit noncitizen change of address information, the system requires a full name, the noncitizen’s A-number, and a validated non-commercial address. The form takes an estimated time of one minute to complete. All noncitizens with the exception of A and G visa holders and visa waiver visitors are also required to report their change of address to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within 10 days of moving.
