The H-1B registration period for the FY 2023 H-1B Cap opens next week on Tuesday, March 1 at 11 am CST. The registration period will remain open until 11 am CST on Friday, March 18. Following the registration period, USCIS will conduct the lottery and announce selections by March 31. If selected, a notice will be posted in the H-1B employer’s MyUSCIS account, as well as the Attorney/Representative account, if applicable. Selected registrations will then have 90 days to file the H-1B petition with USCIS, from April 1 – June 30.
If you have not done so already, please submit your registrations for the FY 2023 H-1B cap on the MyEsq portal. We encourage all H-1B employers registering in this year’s H-1B cap to verify MyUSCIS account access before the registration period opens. If you have an existing account, make sure you have your credentials and can successfully log in. If you do not yet have a MyUSCIS account, make sure you create one ahead of time following USCIS’ instructions. It is very important the account type is a “Registrant” account.
For FY 2022, USCIS received 308,613 registrations during the registration period. There were three rounds of selections, which occurred in March, July, and November 2021. ILBSG anticipates at least two rounds of selections for FY 2023, as there has been a second-round every year USCIS has used the registration process so far. ILBSG will post updates regarding the FY 2023 cap throughout the registration and subsequent filing periods. The key to success is being prepared for the next step and available options that may be needed. Follow ILBSG News to stay in the know and prepare for the next step.
