Individuals who file their Diversity Visa documents to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) are eligible for a trial program focused on streamlining processing. 2022 diversity visa winners need only submit the DS-260 Immigrant Visa Application form for themselves and their family members prior to being scheduled for a visa interview if directed to use the KCC. This change is effective immediately.
Other required supporting documents are not required prior to scheduling an in-person interview at a consulate or embassy, solely for those using the KCC. Upon interview, all other documents are required and will be collected at the interview. The documents will be evaluated with the individual embassy or consulate where the visa application has been submitted. For a list of all the documents required, refer to the State Department website. Individuals who do not have all the required supporting documents will have their visa application refused. However, individuals can later overcome the issue by providing the required documents to the consular section. It is imperative, however, to bring all required documents to prove eligibility for the visa at the time of the interview.
KCC has worked on improving efficiency at their consular sections, helping applicants prove their eligibility. As such, KCC pre-processed Diversity Visa cases to ensure applicants are prepared and have the information they need to prepare their full document requirements prior to the interview. The focus of this effort is to ensure all available Diversity Visa appointments are used. This pilot program is being reviewed and will be analyzed to determine the next steps. This program is available for 2022 diversity visa winners.
