According to ProPublica, DHS intends for an “all-out war” against these kinds of immigration scams Enforcement involves looking for URLs, WhatsApp numbers, and payment records linked to the scammers.
Immigration scams increased with the government’s stricter immigration policies. Immigration Scammers target victims during immigration processing, taking advantage of their uncertainty. The biggest problem is AI videos posted across social media websites like Instagram. The Federal Trade Commission found scammers stole over ninety-four million dollars over the past five years. Many of their victims end up prosecuted for immigration fraud and removed from the country.
