Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested ten thousand people in a five time-span in late June, 2026. According to AP News, the rise arrest rates represent a major push from the agency. The tally works out to roughly two thousand arrests per day during that period.

The surge follows a shift in the agency’s approach, moving away from high-profile sweeps in major American cities toward quieter methods of reaching its enforcement targets. Even with the lower public profile, the daily arrest count now runs well above earlier 2026 levels. In January 2026, the daily average sat just over twelve hundred arrests. Late June’s pace is roughly 65% higher than that January baseline.
