India: EB-1 and EB-2 Retrogress

The headline changes this month is the retrogression of India’s EB-1 and EB-2 Final Action Dates.

For Chinese-born EB-2 applicants whose priority dates are current or close to it, the prudent reading of this bulletin is to treat the June numbers as a window that may not stay open. Filing now, where eligible, is preferable to assuming the same dates will be available later in the fiscal year.

Family-Based Categories: F2A Stays Current, Modest Movement Elsewhere

On the family-sponsored side, the June bulletin shows a mix of small advances and holdovers. Most importantly for adjustment filers, the F2A filing date, spouses and children of permanent residents  remains current for all countries, allowing eligible applicants to file regardless of priority date.

For India, the family-based filing dates track the worldwide chart except for F4, where the India filing date is December 15, 2006.
