U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced an additional round of FY2025 H-1B regular cap selections. USCIS will select, at random, additional registrations for unique beneficiaries from electronic submissions previously submitted. Prospective petitioners will be notified they are now eligible to file the H-1B cap subject petition for the specific beneficiary. When the second selection is complete, USCIS will provide an update.

In March 2024, the initial selection process estimated sufficient selections to reach the H-1B cap numerical limit, including advanced degree exemption. A second selection for advanced degrees is not required. However, registrations previously submitted with eligibility for the master’s cap and those that indicated only eligibility for the regular cap will be included in the second random selection. USCIS online accounts will be updated to reflect the selection notice along with details as to filing requirements.
