The USCIS recently released an update to the Historical National Average Processing Time for All USCIS Offices for Select Forms, by fiscal year. The current update includes Q3 2020.
In reviewing the results for the 42 highlighted processes:
- 24 categories had an increase in time required for processing
- 13 categories had a decrease in time required for processing
- 5 categories had no change to the time required for processing
The longest times for processing are:
- I918: Petition for U Non-immigrant Status with 48.8 weeks required to process. The I918 is to provide temporary immigration benefits to an alien who is a victim of qualifying criminal activity and their qualifying family. This is an increase of over 4 additional weeks from FY 2019 and more than doubled since FY2016.
- Waivers, excluding I-601A, are at 33.8 weeks, up over 2 weeks from FY2019 and double FY 2016.
- I829: Petition by Entrepreneur to Remove Conditions (Removal of lawful permanent resident conditions) or immigrant investors, is at 37.2, up nearly 4 weeks from FY 2019 and up nearly 20 weeks since FY2016.
