U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the expansion of Form I-485 requirements to include the beneficiary’s medical exam and immunizations records with submission. Without these documents, the Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status may be rejected. Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, must be submitted along with the Form I-485.
The medical examination and vaccinations record is required to determine individuals are free from health conditions that would make them inadmissible based on health-related issues. Instructions on Form I-485 requirements have been updated. The change is a response to the number of Requests for Evidence issues prior to adjudicating Form I-485. More information is available in the USCIS Policy Manual.
If you have questions about Form I-485, medical exam and vaccinations reports, or any other issue related to U.S. immigration, contact us at ILBSG. We continue to strongly recommend all eligible individuals submit petitions as soon as possible for any current immigration policy extensions or programs. Contact us to ensure your petitions are submitted on a timely basis so short up possible protections prior to potential changes in immigration policy.
