The Department of Homeland Security posted a notice to the Federal Register designating Lebanon Temporary Protected Status (TPS) eligible. Information outlining how qualifying individuals from Lebanon can register for the TPS program is included. Approved individuals receive TPS for 18 months under this designation.
There are an estimated 11,000 individuals eligible to apply for the Lebanon Temporary Protected Status program. To qualify to apply, individuals must be from Lebanon or last habitually resided in that country, continuously residing the U.S. since October 16, 2024, with continuous physical presence in the U.S. since November 27, 2024. Other requirements also apply.
Registration for the program runs from November 27, 2024, through May 27, 2026. Qualifying individuals can also apply for TPS-related employment and travel authorization. Individuals with F-1 nonimmigrant student visas may qualify for special student relief. If approved, students can also apply for employment authorization with an increase in the number of hours worked while school is in session and reduce their class load while maintaining the F-1 status through the TPS designation period. More details are available in the Federal Register Notice.
