A U.S. district judge ruled the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) acted unlawfully when it revoked the status of immigrants using the CBP One App. If implemented, the government might restore legal status to hundreds of thousands of people. Specifically, the ruling restores removal parole to CBP One app users.
CBP One Overview
According to ABC, the CBP One app allowed up to nine-hundred thousand individuals to enter and work in the U.S. between 2021 and 2025. However, the government revoked legal status of its users in 2025. The government explained they exercised their rights in terminating the user’s legal status. Afterwards, the DHS repurposed the app for self-deportation.
